One in four men cheat. But what if their betrayal is inevitable? What if, their women are cursed? Cursed by a 500-year-old love lock. If you were with the one in four, would you try to break the curse?
Mara doesn’t believe in curses. She believes in facts the women in her family are always with the one in four just like 800 million other women in the world.
Until one night of tragedy changes everything and Mara must confront the curse that’s doomed the women in her family to generations of betrayal, whether she believes in it or not.
Armed with an heirloom key and a fireside tale of a botched up love pact, Mara arrives in the medieval villages of the Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera in Italy. Colourful tower houses nestled into cliffs that plunge down into the glistening sea at first glance it is a tourism mecca of spectacular beauty.
However, within moments Mara is lost in the folds of an old world village, where a dark history of pirates, murder and betrayal still reigns – her curse at the root of it all.
On meeting Saro, part time barman, part time pirate, Mara starts to believe in the verity of her curse and the possibility of true love. But as the curse promises wealth, love and even life to all involved, will Saro help her solve the puzzle of her curse, or will he kill to keep it alive?

This book has a good first start...intriguing, fast-paced, and the editing was pretty good for a freebie. The main character was likeable, and believable, although somewhat of a klutz. But, somewhere around the middle of the book, the editing deteriorates, and so does the plot. Too many characters muddy the plot; in one chapter they are the good guys; then in the next they are suddenly sinister and cruel, and the next they are the good guys again. And the number of subplots, even though they eventually tie into the main story, is at least one to many and really only adds words to the book. Three quarters of the way through, I was praying the end was coming, for the editing had completely evaporated: wrong words, missing words, misspelled words and a couple of "Ooops, that scene already played but with a different outcome." It really made finishing the book a chore.-

Cinque Terre a novel edition by A Scott Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Loved it. What a wonderful character Mara is strong yet clumsy decisive but willing to compromise very independent but open to love. Cannot wait for the next book
One of the silliest books I have ever read and I read several each week -'not recommended at all, a real waste of time.
easy read
This has to be the worst book I have ever read.....it could have been good if the writer did more than spout confusing ramblings in no particular order.
This was the most confusing book I have ever read. It was hard to keep up with her babbling thoughts. Beautiful descriptions but just too jumpy... too bad.
Instantly riveting tale of old Italian love curse and those trying to break it and keep it from being broken. Highly recommend this fast paced very descriptive written story.
What a stupid nonsense book. I kept reading to the end to see if it would ever get better. It never made any sense. It had flight of ideas that could not ever be connected. I thought it was written by an elementary school child. I was hoping to have a great deal of location description. There was a minuscule amount of geographical picture. This was probably the most ridiculous book I’ve ever read. I hated it. Don’t bother. I wasted time in my life reading this book. I can’t get that time back.
